The Deanship of Student Affairs organized a sports festival for female students in celebration of World University Sports Day, with the participation of 321 female students. The event aimed to promote a culture of physical activity and encourage students to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle, in an engaging sports environment characterized by enthusiasm and friendly competition.
The festival featured a variety of sports activities and events, most notably the Steps Challenge, along with a range of physical and recreational games, including jump rope, hoop jumping, tug of war, and Jackaroo, with active participation and interaction from the students.
In the Steps Challenge, the results were as follows:
First Place: Student Rimas Al-Yahya, with a total of 12,697 steps.
Second Place: Student Lujain Al-Mutarrad, with a total of 11,256 steps.
Third Place: Student Kholoud Al-Dosari, with a total of 9,441 steps.
The festival also featured the participation of the College of Applied Medical Sciences through the awareness booth “Sports and Heart Health,” which provided educational information on the importance of physical activity and its role in promoting cardiovascular health.
The College of Nursing also participated with the awareness booth “A Step Toward Your Health,” which focused on raising awareness of the importance of movement and physical activity and their impact on overall health.
The organization of the festival comes as part of the Deanship of Student Affairs’ efforts to commemorate international sports occasions, promote sports participation among female university students, and raise awareness of the importance of physical activity as one of the key pillars of health and quality of life.
