The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Student Nutrition and Services Unit, organized an awareness lecture titled “Cardiovascular Heart Safety,” presented by Dr. Abu Bakr Omar Hussein. The lecture aimed to raise health awareness among students and highlight the importance of preventing cardiovascular diseases and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The lecture addressed the most common cardiovascular diseases and their associated risk factors, in addition to raising awareness of the warning signs and symptoms of heart attacks and emphasizing the importance of seeking immediate medical attention when such symptoms occur.
It also highlighted the importance of regular health screenings, particularly blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks, as well as maintaining regular medical follow-up to support early detection of risk factors and reduce potential complications.
The lecture encouraged students to adopt healthy habits, including maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and quitting smoking, which contribute to better heart health and help prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
The lecture is part of the Deanship of Student Affairs’ efforts to promote health awareness among university students, foster a culture of prevention, and encourage healthy lifestyles that contribute to better health and quality of life.
