About the Department
The Cybersecurity Department is one of the departments administratively affiliated with the Vice Rectorate of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University and was recently established as an independent department
Based on Royal Order No. 37140, dated 14/08/1438 AH, the Department consists of three main sections.
The first is the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Section, which is responsible for meeting the requirements of the National Cybersecurity Authority by ensuring the implementation of and compliance with all national cybersecurity policies and standards.
The second is the Security Operations Section, whose responsibilities include monitoring information assets for cyber threats, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, responding to cyberattacks, and analyzing cybersecurity risks.
The third is the Project Management Office, whose responsibilities include providing consultation and training, providing forms and templates, and supporting project managers in projects related to the University’s Cybersecurity Department.

Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University places great emphasis on the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud — may Allah preserve him — and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud — may Allah preserve him.
One of the key objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 is the transition toward a digital society and the development of digital infrastructure. This transformation requires a secure environment for information and technology assets through the adoption of international best practices in cybersecurity.
In light of the rapid acceleration of digital transformation, cyberattacks and information security risks have increased. Accordingly, the University President issued a deci
sion to restructure the University’s Cybersecurity Department on 28/04/1441 AH, corresponding to 25/12/2019, based on Royal Order No. 37140, dated 14/08/1438 AH, and in alignment with the Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) issued by the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA).
