Dr. Abdurrahman Al Asimi Rector of PSAU received at his office in the university city a delegation of students from College of Sciences and Humanities in Aflaj. The students were trained during summer at Waseda University in Japan. The meeting was in the presence of Vice-Rector of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Head of International Cooperation Committee Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Hammed, Supervisor of Aflaj Colleges, Supervisor of the Agreement Dr. Musfir Kubairi, and Vice-Dean of Quality and Development, Coordinator of the Agreement Dr. Mahmoud Salem.
Dr. Salem delivered a presentation discussed objects of the summer trading program, which are represented in obtaining the benefit of Waseda University experience in the students’ similar majors. Besides that, the program aims to connect the theoretical aspect with the practical one and enhance the students’ scientific skills and work morale through discipline, teamwork and taking responsibility. He pointed out that the program focused on training the students on Web design, Java Scripts, and Networking. Dr. Salem added that the training included visits to major companies such as robot company in Tsukuba city and TNT Co.
Moreover, Dr. Kubairi denoted that such cooperation a strategic choice that serves the development of its methods, along to benefit from the experience of Waseda University in correcting many practices. All of which would be reflected on the level of educational attainment and skills of the university students. He added that Waseda University is one of the best (50) universities in the world.
At the end of the meeting, Rector thanked the students for their efforts and he urged them to transfer the expertise that they acquired from this training to their colleagues. He also praised the efforts officials of this programs that carry many important goals to develop the students’ skills. Furthermore, the students expressed their appreciation to the Rector and the agreement executors for giving them this chance.
