PSAU is one of the modern universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was established by royal decree in 1430 AH corresponding to 2009. It stipulated the transformation of the branch of King Saud University in Al-Kharj into an independent university under the name of Al-Kharj University, and the joining of all colleges in Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Hotat Bani Tamim, Al-Aflaj and Al-Suliyl to the university. This comes out of the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for education in general and university education in particular. The name of the university was changed twice after that first by royal decree to Salman bin Abdulaziz University on 10/23/1432 AH. Corresponding to September 1, 2011. Then, on 10 Jumada al-Awwal 1436 AH corresponding to March 1, 2015, King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a royal decree to change the name of the university from Salman bin Abdulaziz University to Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. The university is looking forward to achieving its goals of preparing and developing the national manpower, providing qualified and trained resources that meet the needs of the labor market and development requirements, enriching the scientific research movement, and developing postgraduate studies to meet the issues of society. Moreover, the university is considered one of the largest Saudi universities geographically, and currently includes 18 colleges distributed over several governorates, including Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Hotat Bani Tamim, Al-Aflaj, Al- Suliyl, and Wadi Al-Dawasir.
