Prof. Abdul Aziz Al Hammed Rector of PSAU, sponsored the launch of the new faculty training program for more than 90 members of the Saudi faculty in various health, human and applied majors.
The program started with the speech of the Vice-Dean for Development and Quality, Dr. Nasser Al-Qahtani, in which he welcomed the new faculty members in their new academic home, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. He reviewed the most important achievements of the University's Agency for Development and Quality. The University is in the process of finalizing the requirements for applying for accreditation from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). This is part of the University's plan for continuous improvement through the implementation of quality assurance systems in all its academic and administrative units.
It was followed by a speech of the University's Vice Rectorate of Educational and Academic Affairs. It was delivered by Vice Rector Assistant Dr. Mishary Al-Osaimi, who praised the role of the University's Vice-Rectorate for Development and Quality represented by the Deanship of Development and Quality in organizing these meetings. He pointed out that the aim of this program is to discuss the most important issues and to clarify the laws and regulations governing the work of the university with a review of the most important features, traditions, and customs of life in the university in general. Then, Dr. Fahd Al-Sahli Dean of Development and Quality reviewed the university's progress in the field of development and quality, stressing that PSAU since its inception pays particular attention to the application of the quality assurance system as a basis for the process of academic accreditation, both nationally and internationally, Before the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and International bodies that the outputs of academic programs at a high level, similar to their counterparts in prestigious universities. Al-Sahli also discussed the role and tasks expected of the faculty member in order to develop the university outputs and modernize the modern teaching methods that make the student a positive element in the educational process.
The Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Ghaleb Al Nahdi reviewed the ways of supporting the university for scientific research. He urged the new faculty members to contribute effectively by enriching the academic field and knowledge of qualitative researchers that contribute to achieving the most important functions of the university. To attract distinguished researchers to be part of the teamwork, and to the scientific publication featured in the major scientific journals court, stressing at the same time the need to adhere to the application of academic quality standards in this field, and other fields that are directly related to the process Educational and academic.
The Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs Affairs Dr. Majid Al Shaibani presented a presentation on a number of mechanisms that concern the new members and answered a number of queries raised by the attendees.
The representative of the Scientific Council, Dr. Ashraf Abu Al-Hamad presented a presentation of the policies and regulations of the Council and answered all the questions about the rules of promotions as well as on how to equalize the upgrades of faculty members and the way to calculate points.
This was followed by a presentation of the Deanship of Information Technology and Distance Education by Dr. Khalid Al-Nuweiser, Vice Dean of the Deanship, on the electronic services offered by the Deanship to all the University's employees and reviewed the future plan of the Deanship in expanding the electronic services.
The program concluded with a meeting with HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Hamed, the university's president, who started by welcoming and congratulating the new faculty members on joining Prince Sattam University, stressing the need to work in a team spirit to achieve the aspirations of the university community.
