Under the supervision of the National Committee for Assessment and Academic Accreditation, a team of international experts in quality and academic accreditation visited PSAU. The visit came within the developmental assessment project that aims to prepare the university for the actual institutional accreditation according to the committee’s conditions. The team of experts was comprised form six international experts and two local specialist in the auditing of higher education institutions.
Dr. Saleh Al Ghamedi Committee Consultant said that the established procedures in the developmental review are important as the established procedures in actual review. It is considered at this stage more important, because the university will benefit from the team's recommendations to meet the requirements of the actual accreditation. That would lead to fulfill the university’s message and objectives. Al Ghamedi clarified that the university has the basic components of a conscious and supportive management regarding to the development and quality issues. It also has infrastructure and resources that qualify it for proceeding in accreditation process soon.
Furthermore, Dr. Saleh Al Kahtani Vice-Rector of Development and Quality extended his thanks and appreciations to the review team. He assured that by this step, the university has begun procedures of the actual institutional accreditation.
In addition, Dr. Saad Azzahrani Dean of Development and Quality said that, by the support of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of PSAU, the university would proceed in the development and quality procedures in the university’s academic and administrational units. He added that the university has gained the result of the spent effort during the project. Moreover, the deanship drawn a future plan to obtain the actual accreditation for the university and six of its academic programs.
