Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of PSAU inaugurated yesterday “Towards Green University City” project. The project is an ambitious vision of the team of the Chair of Sarah bint Ghunaim and in participation of the team of Operation and Maintenance Department. It aims to spread wildly the planting of Moringa tree in the University City and studying its planting techniques and time. Moreover, the chair uses the latest technologies in plating, production and consuming the Moringa. It treats the seeds with magnetic field, which rapids the plan growing comparing to the traditional way. The chair supported the plant of 2500 Moringa tree in the university.
It is worth mentioning, this tree is known as a full pharmacy. It is used in many fields such nutrition, environment and fertilizers production. The importance of this plant comes from the usage of most of its parts such as roots, stem, tree bark, leaves, flowers, and pods, besides seeds, and the oil of the flower and seeds. In addition, the honey can be produced almost all of the year from the Moringa flower, because of the long period of blossoms.
