The Scientific Council in SAU approved the executional roles of the research excellence reward, which is dedicated for non-Saudi faculty members. The council also approved to appoint the end of Thursday 20/6/1436H as the last day for receiving the transactions from the university’s colleges and administrations. These transactions shall be discussed in the council’s last session to the academic year 1435-1436H.
In addition, the council approved a number of appointments as follows:
Appointments:
· Dr. Noura Ghemlas /Professor Assistant / Islamic Studies Department - Tafsir and Hadith, College of Education- Al Kharj.
· Dr. Neda’a Haqbani/Professor Assistant / Arabic Department - literature and Criticism, College of Education- Al Kharj.
· Dr. Zaiyd Khama’ali /Professor Assistant /Biomedical Engineering- Medical Device Technology Department,College of Applied Medical Sciences.
Moreover, Dr. Abdul Aziz Hammed Vice-Rector of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Chairman of the Council pointed out that the approvals included the promotion of the following:
· Dr. Mohammad Shahida/Professor Assistant / Department of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine to be Associated Professor.
· Dr. Mazen Shaer/Professor Assistant / Department of Physics, College of Sciences and Humanities to be Associated Professor.
· Dr. Basem Khalil /Professor Assistant /Department of Islamic Studies at the College of Education in Addelam to be Associated Professor.
The council has also approve the formation of a number of committees to inspect the scientific production to those who filed for promotion, and to arbitrate books for publishing on the expense of the university within the minimum rate of promotion. In addition, the council approved a number of transfers and resignations of faculty members and staff. It also approved a number of faculty members applications related to external scientific tasks, trainings and workshop attendance.
Faunally, the council approved to pay excellence reward allowance to the faculty members. Besides that, the council discussed a number of case related to the competence of the council.
