In agreement with SAU’s message that encourages scientific excellence and rewarding researchers, the University Council approved in its fourth session to the academic year 1435/1436H the executional ground roles of the encouragement reward for research excellence. The approval was given upon the recommendation of the Council of Scientific Research Deanship it its second session to the Academic year 1435/1436H.
Dr. Saad Omran Dean Scientific Research said that the aim of these roles is to develop and enhance the quality of scientific research in the university, besides encouraging researchers and directing them to publish their works in high reputed magazines. It also aims to strengthen the university’s research position through spreading knowledge and to provide an attracting environment to the researches.
Moreover, Dr. Omran added the roles would be applied on SAU’s members such as faculty and researches, whereas the reward would be given to the remarkable researches that are published in scientific magazines has an impact on the web of science. The reward will be given also to the scientific papers that are not funded by the university or to those extra papers of the funded researches. In addition, the reward is ranging between 20-15 thousand SAR according scientific magazine reputation and its ranking in web of science database.
On the same context, Dr. Omran denoted that the deanship would also present encouragement reward to the distinguished researches in humanities field, who have a scientific publication in Arabic magazines that are not in web of science database. Then, he extended his thanks to Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of SAU for his continuous support and to Prof. Abdul Aziz Hammed Vice-Rector of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research for directions and follow up.
