SAU Organizes a Training Seminar in Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of SAU sponsored the training seminar closing, which was organized by the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Al Kharj. The seminar was about physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation. It was titled “New Horizons in the Rehabilitation of Neurological Diseases” and it lasted for two days starting from 12/1/1436H. A number of international speakers from Austria, Germany and Italy spoke about the importance of the new technologies in physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation field.
The seminar was held in conjunction with number workshops that were attended by students and faculty members to enhance their skills in applying new technologies.
Dr. Abdul Wahhab Daraman Dean of Applied Medical Sciences College clarified that this seminar aims to highlight the latest technologies that accorded in few past years. Then, he added that the seminar included on following topics:
1- 3D analysis of neurology patients’ gait by using motion-imaging system.
2- Fall prevention for patients with Parkinson's disease through virtual environments.
3- Modern technology in the diagnosis of spinal deformities.
4- Modern technologies in the rehabilitation of the parties after the surgery and peripheral nerve injury.
It is worth mentioning, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties accredits the seminar by eight hours.
