His Excellency Neil Hawkins the Australian Ambassador confirmed relations depth between the Saudi Kingdom and Australia, which are historical relations and represented by the developmental projects between the two countries.
During a lecture titled “High Education in Australia” delivered by HE, Mr. Hawkins said that the kingdom is important economic partner. Then, he reviewed the diplomatic, cultural and economic relations between the countries. It is worth mentioning, that the lecture was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of SAU.
In addition, Mr. Hawkins touched on the Australian university and its rank comparing to the universities of the advanced countries. He reviewed historical overview about Australia and its geographic place and cultural varieties. Then, he pointed out to Saudi students in Australia and their achievements. He added that there are more than 16 thousand Saudi students in Australia, who are able to study in more than 20 highly reputed universities. At the end of his lecture, HE Mr. Hawkins answered the audience inquires.
Later on, Dr. Al Asimi delivered a speech began by thanking Mr. Hawkins for his attendance and for his lecture that included a valuable information. In addition, Rector praised the strong relations between the two countries and the generous support of government to the Saudi universities. Then, he added that there are many students of SAU are studying in the Australian esteemed universities. At the end of his speech, Rector praised the spent efforts to hold such meetings.
After the lecture, Mr. Hawkins and his companion delegation visited the research chair of Sarah bint Ghunaim for the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants. They were received by Dr. Farhan Jeadi supervisor of the chair. Dr. Jeadi denoted the chair achievements.
Then, Mr. Hawkins and his companion delegation visited College of Applied Medical Sciences. They were received by Dr. Abdul Wahhab Abo Daram Dean of the college and dean vices. They were briefed on the medical labs and the modern methods that are used in the educational process.
At the end of his visit, Mr. Hawkins took a tour inside the place of King Abdul Aziz. He saw in the visit the ancient Saudi architectural and art heritage.
