Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Tahlawi, the Student Affairs Deanship held its annual ceremony, “Ehtifa and Entelaq” (Celebration and Launch), yesterday, on Wednesday, 1445/2/14 AH, at the University City Theater.
The ceremony commenced with the Saudi Royal Anthem, followed by recitations from the Holy Quran. This was followed by a presentation of a statistical report on the activities of the Deanship and the university's colleges. Next, an operetta titled "Watan Al-Samou" was performed by some of the university's students.
His Excellency Dr. Issa Al-Dosari, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the University President, its vice presidents, and the distinguished attendees. He discussed the Deanship's strategy, its upcoming plans, and the future vision. In his speech, he mentioned that they aim to provide students with what meets their ambitions and develops their abilities. He aspires for the Student Affairs Deanship to be advanced and competitive by offering outstanding and quality programs, aiming to be among the leading deanships regionally and internationally.
Subsequently, the University President gave a speech in which he said: "We welcome you to this joyful ceremony, 'Celebration and Launch,' to honor those who contributed their efforts and dedication during the past year, and what they provided for our male and female students in terms of activities. We believe in the importance of student activities as it is an essential part of the university's mission, which is fundamentally based on serving students and equipping them with skills beneficial in their academic and personal lives." He concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude to the Student Affairs Deanship and the university's colleges for their work and efforts in serving their university.
At the end of the ceremony, the University President presented awards for excellence and certificates of appreciation to the winners from the university's colleges.
List of recipients of the University Excellence Awards:
- Excellence Award in Student Activities at the University level: The Preparatory Year Unit in the Deanship of Admission and Registration.
- Excellence Award for the Best Student Club at the University level: The Brightness Student Club at the College of Dentistry.
- Excellence Award for the Best Student Activity at the University level: The First Employment Fair organized by the Applied College, with the participation of 200 male and female students.
- Excellence Award for the Best Student Activity Supervisor at the University level: Dr. Mohammed bin Saad Assiri.
- Excellence Award for the Best Club Supervisor at the University level: Mr. Fahad bin Ali Al-Obeidi.
- Excellence Award for the Best Club Manager at the University level: Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Anzi.
- Excellence Award for the University's Student Activity Star: Abdulrahman bin Ahmed bin Mutrad.
