His Excellency, Dr. Fahad Al-Sulaiman, the Governor of the General Authority for Defense Development, met with Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Talhi, the President of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, during a visit by a delegation from the General Authority for Defense Development to the university campus as part of the implementation of strategic initiatives for defense development. The visit aimed to activate strategic partnerships between the Authority and the university in the research, development, and innovation sectors related to defense technologies and security systems.
Dr. Al-Sulaiman emphasized that all universities and research centers are essential partners in the activities and efforts of the Authority, which aim to regulate the research, development, and innovation sector in areas related to defense, military, and security technologies and systems. This is achieved through strategic partnerships with universities, research centers, experts, and consultants in various fields relevant to the Authority's work, with a focus on alignment. He noted that this visit, which included a tour of the Innovation Center, is the first step in this direction and will be followed by visits to other national universities and research centers. He pointed out that Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University stands out for its exceptional human capabilities and suitable infrastructure to build a strong foundation in defense research and development. With the support of Allah, it, along with other universities, will contribute to achieving the wise leadership's directives in building and empowering an integrated defense research, development, and innovation system to achieve the Kingdom's self-reliance and leadership in advanced technologies and systems.
