On 13/2/2023, PSAU concluded the "Women in Data Science 2023" forum on its second and last day, in cooperation with the American Stanford University. The forum witnessed the presence of a number of women leaders at the university, female students from the university’s colleges in Al-Kharj and its branches, and women from the local community, at the university’s main theatre.
The forum aims to enhance the culture of women in the field of technology and data science and confirm their professional participation in this field. It provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and encourage cooperation between participants in various disciplines. It also aims to connect regional researchers and practitioners with leading global networks in the field of data science to contribute to the realization of the Kingdom's 2030 vision by strengthening the female workforce in this field, in addition to making the university a strategic partner alongside universities and well-established agencies locally and globally and supporting new beginners in data science. On its second and final day, the forum included setting up work on the Women’s Initiative in Data Science Challenge and the Global Challenge 2023 Datathon, and raising participation. The participating speakers, ambassadors of the initiative, and those in charge of organizing the forum were honored by the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Bushra Al-Hammad.
Regarding the forum statistics, the number of visitors to the "Women in Data Science 2023" forum has reached more than 44,000, and the number of people registered on the website has reached more than 500 the total number of attendees of the forum, via live broadcast, reached more than 1,500, with more than 19 speakers from specialized experts on data science, and more than 12 accompanying events.
