On 8/2/2023, Prof. Abdulrahman Altalhi the president of PSAU chaired the first meeting of the Standing Committee for Supervision and Partnership meeting at the Applied College. The meeting witnessed the presence of the members of the committee, the Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Mashari Al-Osaimi, Professor Sattam Al-Harbi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for Oversight and Work Environment Development, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kitab, Chairman of the Board of Directors of a group of companies, and Dr. Youssef Al-Hareem, Secretary-General of the Princess Al-Anoud Charitable Foundation, Dr. Muhammad Lafa Al-Mutairi, Assistant Secretary-General for Business Support at the Riyadh Chamber, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Maghleith, Director of Hadaf offices in Riyadh, and Dr. Lafay Lavi Al-Salami, CEO of the Applied College at the University.
The meeting began with a speech by the President of the University, in which he welcomed the members of the committee, describing that such meetings are important for achieving the goals within the plans set for the advancement of applied colleges. This was followed by a speech by the President of the Executive Council, in which he reviewed the definition of the committee and its tasks and responsibilities.
The meeting stressed the importance of partnerships with the relevant authorities to create training and employment opportunities for male and female students of the Applied College and to provide all the required ingredients in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, in addition to adopting the latest quality standards, which contributes to achieving the desired goals of the university, which would enhance students’ skills in a safe educational environment for the future. The meeting also discussed the new work, including Studying the issue of strategic partnerships with the public, private, and non-profit sectors, which come in line with the aspirations of 2030 to provide the Saudi labor market with young people who, in addition to knowledge and experience, have training and development in the field of specialization, which achieves various job opportunities. The meeting also reviewed proposals for performance indicators and annual targets for the Applied College to ensure the quality of the educational process in its various aspects, and to strive to achieve the highest levels of performance in line with the plans set for the college and commensurate with its proposed programs, and precisely identifies the targets that the college works to align with its vision, mission, and desired goals.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Altalhi thanked the members of the committee for the fruitful opinions that were presented aimed at reaching the highest level of achieving the level of the goals of the Applied College.
