PSAU participated in the “Hand Made” exhibition in its sixteenth edition, which is organized by King Abdulaziz University from Sunday 5 to Thursday 9 February 2023 at the King Faisal Convention Center in Jeddah.
The exhibition enhances the role of small handicraft projects, as it is considered an annual event to display and market handicraft products for small projects for its participants on a large scale, in addition to training and qualifying them to compete in the local labor market and highlight their creative aspects and their various practical ideas to enhance the confidence of society in its children by providing The opportunity for them to emerge as creative producers capable of facing future challenges. In its current edition, the exhibition also includes the participation of more than 164 projects in various departments, with a total number of 230 students who are pioneers of small projects wishing to enter the labor market from various Saudi universities in all their academic departments. With the aim of enriching local products with a national industry of high quality, which enhances and contributes to raising the level of small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom's gross domestic product.
Dr. Bushra Al-Hammad the Vice-President of Female Student Affairs, and head of the university delegation participating in the “exhibition, explained to the university’s e-newspaper that the participation aims to present small projects for university students, present them to the community, and market their products on a large scale, as well as show the skills of university students as creative producers. She indicated that the university pays great attention to its students and seeks to find all opportunities to empower them in order to build and develop ideas in addition to supporting and sponsoring them, as it is committed to providing a stimulating environment for learning and creativity, which required it to participate in this exhibition. And she indicated that a group of university students will participate, possessing skill and creativity that calls for pride in them and for the efforts they will make, as they will present bright projects in various departments. She considered that participation is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship and exchange knowledge between the present participants, which opens new horizons for them to gain the necessary expertise to compete in the labor market of small projects, crafts, and handicrafts.
