Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Hamid Rector of PSAU and the presence of the Vice-Rectors, and the representative of 15 Saudi universities in the field of endowments and investment, the first stage of the Secretariat of the Coordination Meeting of the University Endowments was launched on Wednesday 5 Muharram 1441 corresponding to 4 September 2019.
Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Jarawi, Secretary-General of the Endowments of Prince Sattam University inaugurated the meeting by welcoming the Head of the Secretariat of the Coordination Meeting of the Endowments of Saudi Universities. The first session was opened at which the participants reviewed the rules governing the work of the Secretariat of the Coordinating Meeting of the Endowments of Universities, which were adopted at the end of the session. In the second session, the participants evaluated the work of the secretariat of the coordination meeting during the first phase (1438-1440) and the development proposals for the second stage (1441-1443).
At the closing session, the Secretary of the Coordinating Meeting of the Endowments of Universities Mr. Ahmed Al-Hussein reviewed the achievements of the Secretariat during the past three years, the most prominent of which were:
1- Exchange of experiences between trustees and officials of the endowments of universities.
2- Communicate with the relevant authorities to promote the endowment of universities at all levels.
3- Adopting joint endowment and investment initiatives between universities.
4- Coming out with nearly forty recommendations during the past three years, the most important of which are:
- Approved the convening of an international conference entitled "Governance and Investment of University Endowments" at King Saud University.
- Taking approval of the establishment of an annual scientific forum for endowments universities at Prince Sattam University.
- Approval of Prince Sattam University Council to establish a refereed scientific journal in the field of endowments.
- Printing and distribution of the book (the impact of endowments in the development of American universities).
- King Abdulaziz University initiative to visit the endowments of distinguished American universities.
Moreover, Prof. Al-Hamid, honored the Executive Team of the Secretariat of the Coordination Meeting of the endowments of universities during the past three years are: Mr. Ahmed Hussein, Mr. Abdulelah Al-Ruwais, and Mr. Othman Al-Amoudi. Then, he delivered a speech in which he thanked all the employees of the universities participating in the previous meetings, and the impact of their recommendations on the level of universities in the field of endowments in the future. Prof. Al-Hamid concluded his speech by wishing King Abdulaziz University success, support and payment in the management of the second phase of the secretariat of the coordination meeting of the endowments of universities.
Then, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Jerioui, Secretary General of Sattam University Endowments, and Dr. Essam Kawther, Executive Director of the Scientific Endowment at King Abdulaziz University, signed the minutes of receiving and handing over all files related to the management of the Secretariat of the Coordination Meeting of the Endowments of Universities to transfer the management of the second phase of King Abdulaziz University.
The meeting concluded with taking memorial photos, lunch and bid farewell to the participants.
