PSAU, represented by the Deanship of IT and Distance Learning, has received the Anthology International Excellence in Education Award 2023 in the Training and Professional Development category for E-Learning. Six winners from different countries around the world were awarded in the Training and Professional Development category, including PSAU. Given the importance of this international award presented by the Anthology Foundation to distinguished educational institutions, the winners will be honored at a later ceremony held for this occasion.
Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Daej, the Dean of IT and Distance Learning explained that the university deserved this award due to its excellence in the "Training and Professional Development in E-Learning" initiative. The deanship previously focused on establishing modern theoretical foundations and frameworks to promote training and development in the field of e-learning. Many faculty members were trained by implementing training programs and workshops, equipping them with specialized skills and enabling them to work on the Blackboard Learning Management System. They were also equipped with the skills to handle all the components of the e-learning system, such as virtual classrooms and testing systems, and were trained in supporting the student experience within the system.
Dr. Al-Daej emphasized that this achievement adds to the series of accomplishments achieved by the university's champions of the Deanship of IT and Distance Learning. This further confirms the support of the university's president, Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Talhi, and the university's leadership for qualitative initiatives and solutions in the field of digital transformation and e-learning.
Dr. Youssef Al-Harbi, the Vice Dean for E-Learning, also mentioned that receiving this award is international recognition and appreciation for the outstanding efforts of PSAU in the field of e-learning training and professional development. This training program aims to enhance the skills of faculty members in fully utilizing the Learning Management System and utilizing various learning tools. It also aims to provide students with continuous access to learning content anytime and from anywhere.
