During an inauguration ceremony held on 5/9/1439H, Prof. Abdul Aziz Al Hammed Rector of PSAU inaugurated the security surveillance camera project. Rector was accompanied by his Vice Dr. Abdulla Jumaa and Dr. Nasser Al Qahtani Vice-Rector of Development and Quality, besides a number of the university’s officials and the project’s teams.
The ceremony began with verses from the holy Quran followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Khalid Alnowaiser Dean of IT and Distance Learning. He welcomed Rector, his vices and the attendance of the ceremony. Dr. Alnowaiser gave a brief about the project. Then, he thanked all of the project participants. After that, a short film was displayed talked about the project details and importance. Later on, Rector delivered a speech expressing his delight regarding the accomplishment of the project because of its importance to the university’s security. He expressed his eagerness to cover all the university’s branches since the capacity of the servers are able to operate eight times the installed cameras, which reflects the good planning of the project. At the end of his speech, Rector thanked everyone has a hand in the project. Then, he honored the project team and participant entities. Moreover, Rector headed to the control room and took a brief about equipment and the new technology installed.
It is worth mentioning, the project covers 29 building in Al Kharj Province through 1200 surveillance camera and 10000m fiber optic. All cameras are monitored from the control room that is equipped with the latest technology and qualified manpower.
