With reference to the announcement of 2015 budget, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of SAU delivered the following statement:
The past few months witnessed many challenges resulted by slowdown of the global economic growth, which was led to many expectation. Nevertheless, after a closer look to our government strategy regarding this global setback, an observer would notice the trust and confidence of the kingdom’s economy. Further, the budget of the year 2015 was announced, which reflects this confidence and trust. The approved budget would ensure the economic stability and sustain the kingdom’s development in all aspects educational, social and health, etc...
This year's budget is amounting to 860 billion SAR, whereas the education share reached 217 billion SAR. The education share is dedicated to establish new universities, complete the standing projects and to execute infrastructure for the educational institutions. The education budget also improves that the education march in the kingdom is in full swing. This march aims to build a high efficient scientific and administrative staff, and to create comparative outputs in labor market either internally or externally.
However, SAU’s budget was set (1.340.170.000 SAR) to enable it fulfilling its duties. This budget shall have a great role in accomplishing the current and future projects of the university, which makes SAU an attractive environment.
O this regard, I appreciate and thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Crown Prince and Deputy of Crown Prince for their generous support to the Saudi universities and especially SAU. Furthermore, I hope from all of us to be loyal to wise leadership and satisfying their expectation regarding the educational and academic process.
