Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of SAU sponsored the induction week launching for accepted students to the academic year 1435\1436H. The week's activities were organized by Deanship of Preparatory Year, which it would last for five days starting from 5\11\1435H. The induction week was launched in the presence of Dr. Abdul Rahman Kudairi Vice-Rector of Educational and Academic Affairs and Dr. Mushari Osaimi Dean of Preparatory Year.
The inducting meeting was began by verses from Holy Quran followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Osaimi. He started his speech by thanking Rector for his continuous support to the students and especially fresh ones through meeting them. Rector's support made the deanship always seeks to fulfill SAU's vision and mission.
Further, Dr. Osaimi welcomed fresh students. Then, he added SAU has provided all its human and financial resources to receive, educate and train a generation able to serve the community in all aspects.
At the end of his speech, Dr. Osaimi delivered a detailed explanation about the induction week objects, which includes many important activities, and he provided fresh students with information about the academic system.
Furthermore, Rector delivered a speech welcoming fresh students and he wished them success. Then, he hoped that SAU provides all what is needed to the fresh students in this stage. He also urged the students to their best in this stage, which is essential for fresh students.
"Academic study is entirely deferent than high school study." Rector said.
Moreover, Rector urged fresh students to seek knowledge not grades. Then, he directed them to acquire the information from its recourses, visit the library and to develop their research skills.
At the end of the first day of the induction meeting, students were allowed to deliver their inquiries, which was answered by Rector. The inquiries was focusing on the required grades for health and other colleges, and the academic system in the university.
It is worth mentioning, the induction meeting includes meetings with Vice-Rector of Development and Quality, Dean of Admission and Registration and Dean of Student Affairs. The induction week will include also on English level test and training courses in self-development and time management presented by specialists in this field. The training courses will be delivered in the University City Theater in Al Kharj province.
