Research Interests
My research interests include:
Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy (as a function of temperature and pressure), X-ray scattering techniques, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Polarizing Optical Microscopy (POM), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) to study:
[1] Self-assembly and molecular dynamics of discotic and calamitic liquid crystals
[2] Structure and dynamics in polymer nanocomposites
[3] Local and global polymer dynamics in restricted geometries
[4] Self-assembly, phase state, molecular dynamics and kinetics of structure formation
[5] Structure and dynamics of block copolymers under 1D and 2D nanoconfinement
Optical Tweezers to Study:
[1] Interaction Forces between microsized silica particles at varying pH, salt concentration, and valence
[2] Forces of interaction between poly(2-vinylpyridine) spherical brushes at varying pH, salt concentration, and valence
[3] Forces within single pairs of charged colloids in aqueous solutions of ionic liquids
[4] Sliding and sticking friction within single pairs of DNA-grafted colloids
[5] Micro-rheology on polymer-grafted colloids
Scanning Force Microscopy (AFM colloidal probe technique) to study:
[1] The interaction forces between end-grafted polyelectrolyte brushes and colloidal particles with and without grafted brushes in situ in electrolyte solutions of varying pH, concentration, and valence
[2] The interaction forces between end-grafted mixed polyelectrolyte brushes and colloidal particles with and without grafted brushes in situ in electrolyte solutions of varying pH, concentration, and valence
[2] Besides the surrounding medium the chain length, grafting density, synthesis method of the brushes, and size of the colloidal particles are varied
