EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. (Chemistry, 2011), Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. Thesis Title: “Modification of resin for their use in the separation, preconcentration and determination of metal ions”
Synthesized novel chelating resins (AXAD-16, AXAD-4) by using different organic moieties (containing amino, azo, carboxylic, carbonyl etc. group) for determination of trace metal ions. Developed a column preconcentration method coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometry for metal analysis in real samples. The method was validated by analysis of certified reference materials and successfully applied for the determination of various toxic metal ions in biological and environmental samples.

Research Interest:
My research work in Chemical Sciences areas for toxic metals, dyes and pharmaceutical residues
removal by using batch and column method coupled with analytical techniques, is internationally recognized. The adsorption technologies developed for the removal of pesticides, dyes and toxic metal ions from wastewater are of utmost importance. Research focuses on synthesis and fabrication of electrode materials, microbial fuel cells, preparing and synthesizing various polymeric sorbents (Chelating materials, Graphene Oxide based nanocomposites and CNT) using different organic moieties (containing amino, azo, carboxylic, carbonyl etc.) and bio-adsorbents for the remediation of environmental pollutants (trace metals, dyes, pesticides) from water and wastewater. I have published more than 150 articles including chapters, reviews, technical reports and papers. I have also edited Elsevier and Springer Nature books. H-index and citation in Scopus are 33 and 4449 and in Google scholar, H-index and citation are 37 and 5683. I am guest editor of many reputed journal namely Adsorption Science and Technology-Hindawi, Polymers MDPI, Frontiers in Environmental Chemistry, Frontiers in Environmental Science and Journal of Chemistry,
Hindawi.
