PSAU and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property signed on Thursday 1/4/2021 in Al-Kharj Governorate, a Cooperation Memorandum regarding the university's accession to the national network for intellectual property.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the university, by Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Hamid Rector of PSAU, and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Swailem CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property.
The Memorandum aims to include PSAU in the Intellectual Property Support Centers at the authority and enabling university to access and benefite from technical and scientific expertise in addition to providing assistance in searching intellectual and technical property databases and analyzing them to meet technical and business needs in addition to raising knowledge of the features of intellectual property rights in general and information on patents. The Memorandum seeks to define procedures for hosting intellectual property support centers to ensure that beneficiaries have access to services designed according to their technical and information needs through the establishment of a national network of intellectual property support centers in the hosting authorities. It also specifies the services and functions of the network of intellectual property support centers, their formation, organization, and the conditions governing their implementation and management.
