On behalf of the Minister of Education and the President of the University Council, Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Hamid Rector of PSAUchaired the first session of the University Council for the academic year (1442 AH), which was held remotely through visual communication technology, on Monday 14/9/2020, in the presence of the Secretary General of the University Affairs Council, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, university Vice-Rector, deans of colleges, support deanships and institutes.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rector thanked in the name of the members of the council the wise leadership led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for the generous directives that confirm their concern for the safety of students in light of the Coronavirus crisis (Covid - 19). Also, Rector praised the great efforts made by the Ministry of Education in this regard and the continuous guidance by the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh.
Then, the Council discussed the topics on the agenda, and made the following recommendations:
The Council reviewed the decisions taken during the summer vacation by the President of the University Council - the Minister of Education.
The Council approved the joining of Dr. Shatawi Al-Subaie, Dr. Basais, Prof. Hamid Abdul Ghaffar Al-Samri to form the Council of the College of Computer Engineering and Science for a year.
The Council approved the joining of Dr. Thamer Al-Munif and Dr. Hussein Al-Rubaiy to form the Council of the College of Engineering in Al-Kharj for a year.
The Council approved the transformation of the Nursing Department at the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Al-Kharj into an independent nursing college.
The Council approved the student activities plan for the Deanship of Student Affairs, the student activities plans for the university’s colleges and the Deanship of the preparatory year for the academic year 1442 AH.
