Under the patronage of Prof. Abdul Aziz Al-Hamid Rector of PSAU and in the presence of Dr. Khalid Muqren Rector of Majmaa University Governor of the General Endowments Authority Mr. Amad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi and with the participation of the trustees and officials of the Saudi universities endowments held at the headquarters of the General Authority for Endowments on Tuesday, 18 Sha'aban 1440, corresponding to April 23, 2019. The first annual meeting of the partnership and integration between the General Authority for Endowments and University Endowments. It is the seventh meeting of the secretaries and officials of the university endowments, which is managed by Prince Sattam University.
The President of the Coordination Meeting for University Endowments, the Secretary General of the Awqaf University of Prince Sattam, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz Al Jerawi, opened the meeting by thanking the Rector for sponsoring the meeting and his unlimited support for the coordination meeting. He thanked the Director of Al Majmaa University for his attendance and the Awqaf Public Authority. Address to the patron of the meeting, the Director of the University of Prince Sattam, who in turn thanked the Commission and stressed the importance of coordination and integration between the Commission and the secretariat of the meeting of the coordination of university endowments, and wished to come out with practical recommendations contribute to the development of university campuses Enabling it to achieve its objectives.
Then, HE Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Muqrin, Director of the University of Majma'a, delivered a speech in which he praised the initiative of the Coordination Meeting and its impact on supporting the universities especially the emerging ones to achieve their role in the power of education, scientific research and community service. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince stressed the importance of constructive integration between the Commission and the Saudi universities in order to achieve the aspirations of the leadership in improving the system of the waqf sector and its development in the Kingdom, And the achievement of financial sustainability through enhancing the role and contribution of Awqaf in the service of society and achieving a developmental impact. The Governor of the Commission stressed the importance of coordination between the Ministry and the Authority to enable the universities' endowments and activate their role in contributing to the GDP.
The meeting was followed by a presentation of the strategy of the Authority, which aims at enhancing the role of Awqaf in contributing to the objectives of the vision of the Kingdom 2030 and the National Transition Plan 2020 through a set of pillars, objectives and initiatives that contribute to the development of the services and products provided by the Commission to the community. The participants also discussed the opportunities for integration and cooperation between the General Authority for Endowments, the endowments of universities and the major roles of government agencies and educational institutions to promote the endowments of universities and work to provide permanent sources of support that contribute to activating the roles played by education and the most important of which is community service through the programs that work on it, Non-profit through the conduct of scientific research specialized non-profit sector, and develop the capabilities of non-profit workers, and contribute to the introduction of a range of programs in this area, which will have an impact in the advancement of non-profit sector in various components Strengthening the role of universities in this area.
The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination between the Authority and the Ministry of Education as the main reference of the universities represented by the secretariat of the coordination meeting for university endowments to address the most important challenges facing the universities 'endowments, as well as preparing a study to monitor the reality of universities' To develop the universities 'endowments, and to continue joint work to develop and develop the universities' endowments by benefiting from the best practices in this field, and forming a permanent coordination team between the Commission and the secretariat of the coordination meeting for university endowments The relationship and make recommendations and proposals thereon, and stress the importance of the continuation of this annual meeting between the Commission and the Secretariat because of its positive impact in the development and advancement of this sector.
